The Lord Will Guide You and Satisfy Your Soul

“Isaiah 58:11 The LORD will guide you continually, And satisfy your soul in drought, And strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.”
Reflection
1st January 2024 It’s a new year! However, I did not wake up finding that everything that had happened in 2023 was but a dream. The troubles are still there and the anxieties still weigh heavy, albeit fleeting.
Application
How do we have the peace that Christ gave us when there seems to be no end to our trials? If we have the Holy Spirit in us, why do we feel powerless? Know that the LORD guides us continually and satisfies our soul in drought, quenching our thirst with life-giving water. We are called to: 1. Surrender to the Spirit 2. Meditate on His Word and use it as a weapon 3. Know our identity in Christ, walking in His spiritual authority 4. Forgive those who have sinned against us, as we have been forgiven by the LORD 5. Pray continually for this builds our relationship with the LORD 6. Count it all joy when faced with fiery trials, for we must not remain lukewarm 7. Trust and obey the LORD at all times.
Thank You, LORD, for being my guide. Thank You for quenching my thirst in drought, for satisfying my soul when I am weak, for strengthening my body to face each new day with the hope that You are more than sufficient and with the peace that transcends all understanding, because of the love of Jesus Christ, my Wonderful Counsellor and Prince of Peace. Amen.
