Speak Lord Jesus, I Am Listening
June 9, 2026
“Psalm 27:1 The LORD is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?”
Reflection
25th January 2026 My trial approaches – less than 2 weeks away now. At times, the peace of my Lord Jesus Christ has enabled me to be still. Yet, there are moments when my heart is troubled, even though I hear the Lord telling me to trust Him. My lawyers have advised me of the difficulties ahead, but I also sense the Holy Spirit prompting me to live a victorious life and to leave the battle to the Lord. In the past week, I have been fasting and praying during my lunch period. I have been reading stories of Jesus healing the afflicted in the gospel: the Centurian’s servant; the paralytic who was lowered from the roof; the dying daughter of Jairus, a Pharisee; the Samaritan woman at the well; the woman with the bleeding disorder; etc. In all these encounters with Jesus, He looked at them with love and compassion, and He healed both their physical bodies and their broken spirit. Jesus told each of them, “Your sins are forgiven. Your faith has saved you.” That is what my Lord Jesus Christ has told me, too, as I seek His face with a broken spirit and a contrite heart.
Application
I approach the Lord with a broken spirit and a contrite heart. I seek Him and desire the restoration of His union with me. I experience His love and forgiveness. I surrender the future, the unknown and my fears to Him. I walk with the spiritual authority that Christ has bestowed upon me.
Dear Lord Jesus, thank You for loving me. Let me dwell in Your house all the days of my life, that I may behold Your beauty and inquire in Your temple. Thank You for transforming me. It is no longer I who live, but You, O Lord Christ, who live in me. Speak, Lord Jesus. I am listening. I do not know what will happen during the trial, but You are telling me to trust You. I do not need to know the outcome. I need only know that You love me more than I can imagine. Whatever happens, it is because You have the best plans for me. Nothing will be wasted. No experience, no words, no actions will come to pass unless You have commanded them so. Let me rest in this assurance. Remove my fear of men, for it is evil. Fear does not come from You. Let me tell the truth because You are the Truth. Let me glorify You, for You deserve the greatest glory. Prepare me to serve You as an apostle, speaking Your love, wisdom and power, that every knee shall bow and every tongue confess, that Jesus Christ is Lord. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for Your peace. In Your name I pray, Amen.
