I Am An Ambassador For Christ
May 20, 2026
“2 Corinthians 4:7-10 7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. 8 We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed— 10 always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. ”
Reflection
4th July 2024 I had been disturbed and distracted in the past two days, since receiving a notice from my lawyers that the lawyers for IPP had filed a court application for an Examination of Judgment Debtor (“EJD”), which was a preliminary step a party took before enforcing a judgment. An EJD order would require the judgment debtor (me) to provide information on my assets etc. Following this, the judgment creditor (IPP) could decide on the appropriate manner to enforce the judgment (i.e., garnishee order, seizure and sale of assets etc). Whilst I knew in my heart that God had control of this situation, the process was still disconcerting and discombobulating. 2 Corinthians 4:7-10 was, therefore, a source of comfort for me in the past two days. Although I felt trapped in a never-ending cycle of oppression, I knew that God had surrounded me with His angels. I could sense them when I was sleeping and in the day, I had friends who encouraged me with listening nods. I am not crushed, not in despair, not forsaken by God and not destroyed. The gospel of my Lord Jesus is the power of God that drives me on. His Holy Spirit lives in me.
Application
2 Corinthians 5:17-18, 20a 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 18 Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation… 20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us… Knowing that I have this 'treasure in earthen vessels', I walk with spiritual authority as an ambassador for Christ. I am a witness for Him, starting with my parents, who have yet to accept Jesus as their Lord and Saviour.
Dear Lord Jesus, I surrender all to You. All that I have belongs to You. I am Your ambassador and You take care of my every need. I am Yours to do as You will. You are my Potter and I am the clay. Thank You for shaping and moulding me to be a vessel for Your service. I live a day at a time, knowing that You are enough. My family is Yours. I pray for the Holy Spirit to convict my parents of Your love, that they can see in me the strength and love that You have blessed me with. May they return to You as new creations, just as You have made of me. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
