The True Grace of God
June 7, 2026
“Isaiah 58:11 The LORD will guide you continually, And satisfy your soul in drought, And strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.”
Reflection
6th January 2026 As I fasted and meditated on Isaiah 58:11 during my clinic lunch break today, I felt the Lord guiding me back to 1 Peter 5:10: …may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. I was being perfected through my trials, which test my faith and develop my patience, as God had promised me in James 1:2-4: …count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. And how does patience result in its ‘perfect work’, ie me being made perfect and complete? Because it is in patient waiting on the Lord that will increase my dependence on Him. He must increase and I must decrease. Seek the Lord and wait on Him! That was my rhema from Psalm 27 (verses 8 and 14) at the end of 2025: 8 When You said, “Seek My face,” My heart said to You, “Your face, LORD, I will seek.” 14 Wait on the LORD; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the LORD! This was God’s perfect circle – the alpha and omega, beginning and the end. My fasting, prayer and joyful waiting on Him, especially during trials, pleased Him. Because He is pleased, He strengthens my bones and my heart. He establishes His kingdom within me and through me and I shall be like a watered garden, a spring of water whose waters never fail. With the love and power of Jesus Christ, I am able to be steadfast, standing firm and settled. As Peter wrote in 1 Peter 5:12(b): I have written to you briefly, exhorting and testifying that this is the true grace of God in which you stand. I may not yet know the outcome of the months ahead, but I know my Lord shall lead me in paths of righteousness and I shall dwell in His house forever.
Application
I thank God for speaking to me as I fast and meditate on God's Word. I am learning to patiently wait on Him and to move only when He asks me to. Above all, I seek the Lord Christ, for I am betrothed to Him.
Thank You, Lord Jesus. Your will be done. Amen.
