Humble Yourself and Cast All Your Care Upon God, For He Cares For You
May 19, 2026
“Isaiah 46:9-10 Remember the former things of old, For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me, 10 Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things that are not yet done, Saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, And I will do all My pleasure.’”
Reflection
7th May 2024 Shared my impending bankruptcy predicament with the Psalm 23 prayer group and was touched when LW, S and TC said I could and should pray against it. I had held to the mindset that I should let God carry out His plan, but I was reminded that even as God carried out His plan, I could still pray for deliverance and His grace and mercy to cover me. Indeed, God’s sovereignty means He does as He pleases and knows what the end will be, because He declares it. It doesn’t mean I cannot plead with Him and ask Him for the wisdom to understand what is happening and why I have to go through my specific trials. S also said that when I had shared about learning humility through my ordeals the previous week, she wanted me to know that it meant casting all my cares upon Him and not seeing myself as inferior and incapable. Bringing my worries and anxieties to God means letting Him take charge and surrendering to Him; all glory to Him! I must decrease and He must increase. 1 Peter 5:6-7 6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
Application
Before I can truly cast all my cares upon God, I need to be in a posture of humility. Only when I am humble, am I ready to receive help.
Dear Lord, I cast all my care upon You, for I know You love me and care for me. I know my story was written even before I was born. I have been elected, chosen and called, so let Your counsel stand and do all things at Your pleasure. Teach me to submit to Your will always. In Jesus' name, Amen.
