My Elect Shall Long Enjoy the Work of Their Hands
May 20, 2026
“Isaiah 65:22b-23 ...For as the days of a tree, so shall be the days of My people, And My elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands. They shall not labour in vain, Nor bring forth children for trouble; For they shall be the descendants of the blessed of the LORD, And their offspring with them.”
Reflection
22nd June 2024 Today, I went back to being a GP (locum) and I saw my first patient in 19 years. I had stopped clinical work back in 2005, when I had transitioned into full-time healthcare management work as CEO of Gleneagles Hospital. GL (sister-in-Christ) had shared the verses from Isaiah 65 with me yesterday and I received them as rhema from the Lord. I have been chosen by God and His promise was that my labour shall not be in vain. Better still, I shall enjoy my work! My children will be blessed and we shall worship the Lord forever.
Application
Colossians 3:23-24 23 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, 24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.
Dear Lord, thank You for showing me Your ways and Your will for my life. In the valley, You have given me rest, when I can cease from futile work and lean solely on You. I know that You desire to bless me and my family, Your chosen ones, with fruitful lives. Thank You! I love You for all that You have done for me, although I am undeserving. You alone are my Lord and Saviour. I give You all the glory forever, Amen.
