Chosen, Called, Justified, Sanctified and Glorified
May 13, 2026
“Matthew 24:30-31 30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. Romans 8:30 30 Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.”
Reflection
25th December 2023 I enjoyed my first sunrise and it was a blessing to do so on Christmas Day, with LW (wife)! She is the veteran of sunrises and she brought us to Sembawang Beach Jetty, where I was reminded of Jesus' return (see Matthew 24)! This will happen after the great tribulation (and after the first rapture). The people will mourn when this happens because they will begin to regret the times they rejected Christ as the Lord of their lives. Every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord – even those who do not acknowledge Christ as their Lord will know that He is indeed the Son of God. Yet, it will be a time of rejoicing for those whom Jesus has chosen and called. They, who are His elect, will be gathered and taken with Him to paradise, where they shall rule the kingdoms with Him, but not before Satan is loosed on earth for a thousand years. This will be the second chance given to those who are left on earth. Indeed, our God is compassionate and slow to anger. My Lord Jesus is the reason for the hope that I have, in spite of the seemingly dark clouds that have gathered. I have been chosen and called; justified by my faith in Christ and sanctified by the Holy Spirit, in order to glorify and honour Him forever and ever. All this will come to pass by the grace of God, through Whom all mercies and blessings flow!
Application
It can be difficult to get out of bed, let alone leave our home, when we are depressed. But we are never alone in our valleys, for our Lord, the Shepherd, is there with us. He is in the sunrise and the sunset. He will give us the strength and courage to take the first step out of darkness into the light. We walk in faith and behold His glory.
Thank You, Lord, for your love and forgiveness of my sins. You, alone, are my Avocate, my Judge, my Redeemer and my Saviour.
