Walk Worthy of the Lord
June 3, 2026
“Colossians 1:9-12 For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light.”
Reflection
30th April 2025 I have not journaled frequently in recent weeks. I have been tired from working long hours at the clinic and I was also down with food poisoning over the weekend. These have impacted my energy levels and health. Yet I know God promises rest! So, today, having just gone for my routine annual blood test, I am seeking rest in the Lord as I meditate on Colossians 1:9-12. A) Do not stop praying (1 Thessalonians 5:17, Colossians 4:2); B) Ask for wisdom and spiritual understanding to know the Lord’s will (Proverbs 2:6, James 1:5); C) Walk worthy of the Lord (1 Thessalonians 2:12, Ephesians 4:1); D) Please Him fully (1 John 3:22, 2 Corinthians 5:9); E) Be fruitful in every good work (Matthew 7:16-20, Matthew 21:19); F) Seek to know God more and more (Jeremiah 29:13, Hosea 6:3); G) The Holy Spirit will strengthen me with His glorious power (Ephesians 3:16, Acts 1:8); H) Be patient and persevere in my trials with joy (James 1:2-4, Romans 12:12); I) Thank my Heavenly Father always (Ephesians 5:20, 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18); J) He has called and approved me (2 Timothy 1:9, Romans 8:30); K) I am a co-heir with Christ (Romans 8:16-17, Ephesians 1:11)!
Application
When tired, meditate on His Word; pray; and let the Holy Spirit do the rest! Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
Dear Lord, thank You for Word, which encourages me always. I know I am called , and in calling me, You have equipped me with the Holy Spirit’s love, wisdom and power to serve You with thanksgiving. May I be fruitful in every endeavour taken in Your name, to glorify You as I exercise my spiritual gifts in being a fisher of men. Keep me pure for Your work. Thank You, Lord. I pray this in Your precious and holy name. Amen.
