Reflection
19th September 2023, Tuesday It’s the calm before the storm. I do not feel any dread. Maybe I should. I shared with my family what was about to take place. 1.50pm Jin Hian (to Bashful Pears): Hi ladies, just a brief word to say I'm being charged in court tomorrow for share price rigging. I see it as a blessing and opportunity to trust in God, who is my defence. Don't let this affect your studies! Fighting! 2.00pm Janelle (from Glasgow): 🙏 will pray about it! Hope all goes well 7.03pm Joelle (from London): Praying for you! Proverbs 3:5-6 🫶🫶 20TH September 2023, Wednesday 12.33am Jean (from Bristol, where she was with Julienne): Thank you Lord for your presence with Jin Hian. It is your faith that we look at, not ours and it is your Mighty Hands that will carry Jin Hian in and through this trial. Thank you that Christ in him makes him a mighty warrior and the peace of Christ rules his heart, reigns in him and guards his heart and his mind. Protect him from the evil one and help him to cast fear, doubt and not be shaken in the midst. Help him to worship and give thanks in the midst. Deliver Jin Hian from all temptations as he puts on the armour of God and allow you to fight the battles for him. All Glory be unto you. In Jesus’ name I pray. Today, my life changed in a way I would never have imagined. I was charged with 39 counts in the district court for being part of a conspiracy to ‘create a misleading appearance in the share price of New Silkroutes Group, and for pushing the price up’.
Application
God, in His sovereign will, had suddenly turned my life upside down. It was a call to return to trusting and obeying only Him and to leave the world behind. What a blessing to walk in the valley with the LORD as our Shepherd! My desire is that all who read this will be similarly encouraged to walk by faith and not by sight.
Dear Lord Jesus, bless my sharing and use me to encourage those who are struggling in their faith as they go through trials. May they come to know You as I have. In Your precious name I pray, Amen.
