Our Lord is Faithful and Guards Us for His Name’s Sake

“2 Thessalonians 3:1-5 Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified, just as it is with you, 2 and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men; for not all have faith. 3 But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one. 4 And we have confidence in the Lord concerning you, both that you do and will do the things we command you. 5 Now may the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the patience of Christ.”
Reflection
31st October 2023 We live for Christ and we are called to share the gospel through the way we live. Yet, there will be people who will ridicule us and harm us as we do so. Satan will likewise send out his armies against us. We must persevere, as Christ – who loves us – is, Himself, faithful and had endured the cross before Him, that we may be saved. I hold on to this Truth – that Christ will jealously defend His Name by defending those who remain faithful to Him.
Application
In this life, we shall have troubles, but we must not give up sharing the gospel! When I need strength, I shall ask God for it and He shall provide it. If I need wisdom to understand what is happening in my life, I shall ask the Holy Spirit to give me His divine wisdom to know the will of God and to see His providence for my every circumstance.
Dear Lord, may You be glorified as You deliver me from the snares that surround me. Direct my heart to know Your love and fill me with Your Spirit. Thank You for Your faithfulness! I ask for Your love, strength and wisdom to never give up sharing the gospel, singing Your praises and telling others of Your goodness! In Jesus' Name I pray, Amen.
