God Will Reveal to Us All Things By His Spirit
May 26, 2026
“1 Corinthians 2:9-10 9 However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived”— the things God has prepared for those who love him — 10 these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. 1 Corinthians 13:12-13 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. 13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”
Reflection
6th October 2024 I have had to keep going to the Spirit in the past few weeks, seeking to understand what was happening in my life, even to the point of wanting to know the outcome. During our 27th wedding anniversary dinner on 4th October, LW had asked me why knowing the outcome was important. She said, “You have not reached rock-bottom, if the outcome is important to you, (as opposed to complete surrender to God and trusting Him).” I replied that I wanted to know how to prepare myself for the future, so as to serve God according to His plan. In a way, that requires knowing God’s plan for us. But I guess there is a subtle difference between wanting to know every step ahead of time, thinking that such knowledge will give us peace; and knowing the sovereign will of God, who loves us and is preparing us to serve Him when we meet Him face-to-face. The former is undergirded by a doubt in God’s compassionate love for us and ability to provide a way out (often at the last minute), so that we will not succumb to the temptations of this world. The latter focuses on our eternal service to God when we are co-heirs with Christ of the kingdoms to come. When we meet Him face-to-face, our Lord will tell us everything we want to know! For now, our faith and hope are rooted in His grace, which is His immeasurable love for us.
Application
1. Do not worry - pray! (Philippians 4:6-7) 2. Cast your burdens on Him (1 Peter 5:7) 3. Focus on today (Matthew 6:34) 4. Trust God's plan (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Heavenly Father, help me through this difficult period. Do not let the dark forces cross the line in attacking me. Help me walk with confidence in Your love for me. Your rod and staff, they comfort me. Thank You for Your goodness and mercy. Surely I shall dwell in Your house all the days of my life. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
