Walk In God's Authority
May 24, 2026
“2 Corinthians 10:3-6 3 For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. 5 We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ, 6 being ready to punish every disobedience, when your obedience is complete.”
Reflection
25th August 2024 I had been given a prophecy 5 days earlier by Hannes, to walk in the spiritual authority of God. He told me that I had been given seven keys to enable me to walk in God's authority. I prayed for God to reveal to me, through His Word, what these seven keys were. And He showed me: 1. Walk in integrity – key to blessings for my family. Proverbs 20:7 “The righteous man walks in his integrity; His children are blessed after him.” 2. Be strong and courageous – key to victory. 2 Chronicles 32:7-8 “Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid nor dismayed…for…with us is the LORD our God, to help us and to fight our battles.” 3. Be humble, casting my care upon Him – key to peace. 1 Peter 5:6-7 “…humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” 4. Satisfy my soul with the Lord – key to an abundant life, which gives life! Isaiah 58:11 “The LORD will guide you continually, And satisfy your soul in drought, And strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.” 5. Walk according to the Spirit – key to freedom in Christ. Romans 8:1 “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.” 6. Be quiet in His love - key to restoration with God. Zephaniah 3:17 “The LORD your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.” 7. Walk in the power that works in us – key to God’s glory Eph 3:20-21 “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”
Application
We must take every thought of ours captive and make them obedient to Christ. When we submit to the Holy Spirit, we will have, at our disposal, weapons with the divine power to destroy strongholds - doubts, fears, habits, addictions, etc. We put on the armour of God in our spiritual battles and we wield the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word. And the Word of God is living and active, a double-edged sword, able to discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
Thank You, Lord, for Your Word. I know that even though my trials are very real in this world, there is an even greater spiritual war for my soul. Thank You for Your armour, which guards me against the fiery arrows of the enemy. Thank You for Your Word with which I can use to destroy the lies of the enemy. I speak victory in Your name - victory over every fear and every doubt cast against Your love and providence for me. Search me, O God, and know my heart. Reveal any wicked way in me, so that I may repent and be renewed in the Spirit. Let me be a blessing to others when I walk in the authority that You have given me. I praise You, for You alone are worthy of praise! Amen.
