Do Not Fear

May 17, 2026

Scripture

Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.

Reflection

20th February 2024 I’ll be lying if I say that I am happy with the trials in my life. I still have doubts regarding whether I can overturn the IPP verdict and prove myself innocent in the NSG case, but God continues to remind me that He will not leave me or forsake me. He not only goes with me, He will send others to go before me and help me fight the battles which I am unable to. I must stand firm and believe in His providence. I can see the care and concern of my parents, too. How much more my Lord Jesus loves me! Surely He will be my Advocate and appeal on my behalf!

Application

Do not fear - is easier said than done. However, I am called to first believe that my God is with me and, therefore, I must walk in faith, having the strength and courage to do as the Lord wills. This means: 1. Communicating daily/constantly with the Lord to know His heart; 2. Asking the Lord for His divine strength and courage to obey Him. Even our faith is a gift from God; and 3. Having the patience to wait for God to act. He is the mighty one who saves!

Prayer

Dear Lord, I seek to be in union with You, to know Your heart and Your specific will for me in my life. Teach me to be patient and to obey You, even if things do not make sense or appear frightening and uncomfortable to me. As You promised in Psalm 27:1, You are my light and my salvation; whom should I fear? You are the defence of my life; whom shall I dread? As for me, I seek Your kingdom and You righteousness. I thank You for Your Word, in Jesus' name. Amen.
