He is My Refuge and My Fortress; In Him I Shall Trust

“Psalm 91 1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.” 3 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence. 4 He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. 5 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, 6 Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. 7 A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you. 8 Only with your eyes shall you look, And see the reward of the wicked. 9 Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place, 10 No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; 11 For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways. 12 In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone. 13 You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot. 14 “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. 15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. 16 With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation.””
Reflection
21st February 2025 Today was the Appeal Hearing (by Zoom) for my IPP case. I went to my lawyer's office for the hearing with my Psalm 91 card, given to me by CH some weeks ago. I was given a cup of black coffee and the Chinese character for righteousness “義” was written on the cup. That’s a lamb above me, symbolic of Christ above me and above all! And these were some of the words of encouragement I received today: 6.11am Janelle: Praying for the appeal results! 🙏 6.35am Alvin: Dear Lord, as Jin Hian prepares to attend the appeal session today with the lawyers and judge over Zoom, we pray that Your presence and Holy Spirit will bring comfort and strength. We pray that You will protect and watch over Jin Hian and anoint the lips and thoughts of his lawyers so that a favorable resolution may be achieved for Jin Hian. In Jesus' Name we pray, Amen! 🙏 8.29am Fong: May the Lord of grace cover Jin Hian with His faith and peace throughout the proceeding today! 8.32am Wee Meng: Our Father in Heaven, we join Jin Hian, Alvin, Fong and the brothers in prayer. We ask for your grace and favour to guide Jin Hian, his lawyers and the judges in today’s proceedings. May your Spirit guide the submissions and the final appeal. Send your angels to protect Jin Hian and cover him with the blood of Jesus. Strengthen Jin Hian and give him courage and wisdom as he faces today’s appeal and the days ahead. We ask for your name to be magnified - we commit this to you, our Almighty God who loves us and watch over us 🙏🏼 9.53am James: All of God’s protection and love for your appeal hearing today. Pray through a trial. Pray even when you don't feel like it. Pray, because the LORD is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust.
